New Wave Energy’s Acquisition of ENGIE Power & Gas Natural Gas Supply Contracts
In August 2025, NextEra Energy Services acquired ENGIE Power & Gas LLC’s (EPG) natural gas supply business and assigned natural gas supply contracts in Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Ohio and Pennsylvania to its affiliate, New Wave Energy, LLC (New Wave Energy). This means that New Wave Energy is now your natural gas supplier. If your account is in Illinois, your account has been assigned to our affiliate, NextEra Energy Services Midwest. This page explains the transition process and the additional steps that our newly transferred customers may need to take for their natural gas supply.
We are transitioning EPG’s natural gas customers to New Wave Energy. Our goal is to make the process as easy as possible for our customers.
By transitioning to New Wave Energy, our customers will have the opportunity to leverage the full suite of capabilities of our organization, which include energy supply, renewables, efficiency solutions and an established track record of implementing those solutions effectively and efficiently.

What Happens to Your Billing?
If you only receive your natural gas invoice from your utility, you will continue to receive your natural gas invoices from them with no action needed on your part and no interruption in service of any kind.
You should have received a notification from EPG regarding New Wave Energy’s acquisition of your natural gas supply contract.
You will begin receiving invoices from New Wave Energy, please note our new payment information. Once you receive your first New Wave Energy bill, you will have the option to pay by check, wire, or ACH.

Who is New Wave Energy? What is the relationship between NextEra Energy Services and New Wave Energy?
New Wave Energy is an affiliate of NextEra Energy Services and is a full-service electricity and natural gas supplier that serves commercial and industrial (C&I) customers in several Northeast states and Florida.
Will contracting with New Wave Energy impact my current agreement with EPG?
New Wave Energy will always represent our customers’ interests in working to deliver the best energy solutions.
If a customer’s renewal takes place during the transition period, we will continue to provide competitive pricing and high levels of service.
There is no impact to customers who are currently being supplied under contracts with EPG. The contract will remain unchanged and New Wave Energy will continue to provide superior customer service throughout the length of the current contract.
Will my billing remain the same?
The timing of when your service will transition to New Wave Energy will depend on your utility service area.
If you get your natural gas supply invoice from the utility, you will continue to receive your invoices from the utility. You will just see “New Wave Energy” listed as your new supplier.
If you are receiving your natural gas supply invoice from EPG, we will send you our new billing information when we switch your account to New Wave Energy. We’re expecting to start serving our first group of customers starting on Oct. 1, 2025.
